For the first time in her life, Uli woke up and did not hear goats, village voices, or palace footsteps
May be an image of text that says ‘WORLD APART’
For the first time in her life, Uli woke up and did not hear goats, village voices, or palace footsteps — only the distant sound of cars, unfamiliar buildings, and a city that felt too big for someone like her.
The room where she slept was neat, bright, and quiet.
White curtains moved gently as morning light entered.
Uli sat up slowly on the bed, touching the soft blanket again as if she still could not believe it was real.
Everything around her looked expensive.
Even the mirror beside the wall made her uncomfortable.
She looked down at herself.
Simple wrapper.
Simple blouse.
‘WORLD APART’
Yet everything around her reminded her she did not belong here.
A knock came at the door.
Before she answered, Prince Promise entered quietly.
He was already dressed, but his face carried little sleep.
He smiled when he saw her awake.
“You did not sleep well?”
Uli lowered her eyes.
“This place is too quiet.”
Prince Promise laughed softly.
“You will get used to it.”
He moved closer.
For a moment, neither spoke.
Then his expression changed.
More serious.
More personal.
“Uli… listen carefully to me.”
She looked up.
“I did not bring you here because of pity.”
His voice became softer.
“I brought you here because every day I stay away from you feels wrong.”
Uli remained silent.
‘WORLD APART’
Prince Promise stepped closer again.
“I have fought myself many times. I have tried to listen to my mother. I have tried to forget you.”
His eyes stayed fixed on hers.
“But nothing changes it.”
Uli’s breathing became slower.
He continued:
“I love you.”
The words landed heavily.
Simple.
Direct.
Without fear.
Uli looked down immediately.
“My prince…”
“No,” he interrupted gently.
“Today, listen to me fully.”
He lifted her chin slightly.
“I do not care where you came from. I do not care what anybody says you are not.”
His voice deepened.
“I know what I feel when I see you.”
Uli’s eyes became wet.
He continued:
“And I know one thing clearly… nothing will separate us if you trust me.”
Her voice came low.
“But your mother—”
“I will handle my mother.”
“The palace—”
“I will handle the palace.”
“The world between us—”
He smiled softly.
“That world is already breaking.”
For the first time, Uli allowed herself to look fully at him.
No fear.
Only trembling hope.
Then Prince Promise reached into his pocket.
‘WORLD APART’
He brought out a small mobile phone.
He placed it in her hand.
Uli stared at it in surprise.
“This is for you.”
She looked confused.
“I have never used one before.”
“You will learn.”
He smiled.
“And every day… I will call you.”
Her fingers held the phone carefully as if it were something sacred.
“If you miss me, call.”
“If you are afraid, call.”
“If anyone troubles you, call.”
Uli almost smiled.
“You truly think I can learn all this?”
“You will learn more than this.”
He looked toward the door.
“Come. Someone is waiting.”
Outside, the city looked alive.
Cars moved fast.
Buildings stood taller than anything Uli had ever imagined.
Her eyes kept moving from one side to another as they entered a quiet compound.
A mature elegant woman stood outside waiting.
She wore simple but beautiful clothes, with confidence in her posture.
Prince Promise smiled.
“Madam Joy.”
The woman looked at Uli first before smiling.
“So this is her.”
Uli greeted respectfully.
“Good morning, ma.”
Madam Joy nodded approvingly.
“Good. She has respect.”
Prince Promise turned to Uli.
“You will stay here for now.”
Uli looked surprised.
“Here?”
Madam Joy answered calmly:
“Yes. With me.”
Prince Promise continued:
“Madam Joy will teach you everything.”
“How to speak.”
“How to carry yourself.”
“How to understand city life.”
“And next week… school begins.”
Uli looked shocked.
“School?”
“Yes.”
He smiled again.
“You said once you wished you could read signs without asking people.”
She said nothing.
Because her eyes had already filled.
Madam Joy spoke gently:
“Do not fear. You will learn.”
Prince Promise looked at his watch.
Then his expression changed.
He had to leave.
“I cannot stay long.”
Uli noticed immediately.
“You are going?”
He nodded.
“I must return before morning becomes suspicious.”
Madam Joy understood.
“I will take care of her.”
Prince Promise looked at Uli one last time.
Then quietly:
“Remember the phone.”
“I will call tonight.”
He turned and left.
Uli stood watching until the gate closed.
And for the first time since leaving home…
She truly felt the distance.
Back at the palace – morning
Queen Mirabel was already seated for breakfast.
Her face looked sharp.
Controlled.
But something in her expression suggested she had noticed an absence.
She looked at one palace maid.
“Where is Prince Promise?”
The maid bowed slightly.
“My queen… he left very early.”
Queen Mirabel frowned.
“For where?”
The maid answered carefully:
“They said he went to see his friend David, my queen.”
“David?”
“Yes, my queen. The one who returned from abroad yesterday.”
The queen remained silent.
Her fingers touched the cup slowly.
“Did he say when he returns?”
“No, my queen.”
She looked ahead quietly.
But suspicion had already entered.
Because Prince Promise rarely left without speaking.
And Queen Mirabel trusted silence less than words.
Far less.
Meanwhile, inside the city…
Uli stood in Madam Joy’s house holding the small phone.
Looking at it.
As if waiting for it to breathe.
Then suddenly—
It rang.
She jumped.
Madam Joy laughed softly.
“Answer it.”
Uli pressed carefully.
“Hello?”
Prince Promise’s voice came softly through.
“I told you… I will call.” 📱✨
Uli smiled for the first time fully.
And in that moment…
Even city walls could not hide what had already begun.
